ACAHM Seeks Nominations for Commissioners — Administrator Positions
The Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine (ACAHM) is seeking nominations of qualified individuals to fill two vacant Administrator Commissioner positions. We encourage you to consider nominating yourself or a colleague who would bring valuable expertise to our work. Please share this email broadly with all individuals of interest.
About ACAHM
ACAHM is a national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education for the accreditation and pre-accreditation ("candidacy") of professional non-degree and graduate degree programs — including professional doctoral programs — in the field of acupuncture throughout the United States. ACAHM’s scope of recognition can be found on the U.S. Department of Education website.
Open Positions: Administrator (2 Vacancies)
An Administrator member is someone directly and significantly engaged in postsecondary program or institutional administration, currently or within the previous two (2) years.
ACAHM is particularly seeking candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Financial background — experience in institutional finance, accounting, or fiscal oversight
Higher education law, accreditation, or regulatory affairs — attorneys or professionals with expertise in higher education compliance, accreditation processes, or government regulation
Healthcare/Acupuncture administration — hospital administrators, acupuncture employers, or those with experience managing healthcare organizations
These are working volunteer positions that play a critical role in shaping the future of acupuncture education in the United States. Commissioners contribute to standards development, peer review, and policy decisions that affect the entire field.

Those who do not meet the criteria for the current Administrator vacancies are still encouraged to submit the ACAHM Commissioner Interest Form to be placed on the list for future consideration as seats become available.
How to Apply
Interested individuals are invited to submit the ACAHM Commissioner Interest Form by the deadline of 13 July 2026.
Selection Process
After submissions are reviewed, the Commission Nominating Committee may contact candidates to arrange an initial phone interview with a member of the Nominating Committee or the Executive Director. Additional interviews will be scheduled as needed. Qualified candidates will then be placed before the full Commission for election to fill the vacant seat(s).
